Picture Day!

Ok so i had my day off yesterday and I managed to finally get a few pictures...nothing too exciting but there will finally be some visuals to go along with my post. Very exciting, i know.

Yesterday i had a very nice day off, i woke up "late" (8 30) and watched Jarhead then managed to meander over to do laundry and get some breakfast. Watched the lesson and took some pictures, Wendy also had me videotape her riding Rio (who is actually Emma's mom's horse but Emma's mom is at their house in france for the week so Rio is here to be taken care of and ridden but Emma doesnt like him so Wendy is having lessons on him). It was so hot and so sunny so after that hour in the sun i ran and locked myself in my room to hide from UV rays and i managed to not get burnt:) Then the afternoon was more movies and watching some of Serena's lessons with outside people and then Emma Hayley and I went to ASDA (owned by walmart and basically a mini walmart thats more of a grocery store...and its not so mini). I finally got a watch so poor Wendy doesnt ahve to keep waking me up inthe morning and I bought towels so that i could give back wendy her extra one...a very fun-filled day.
Today I was back at work and i now have a 10-day streak till my next day off which is brutal. But today went by very quickly, i borrowed Emma's spurs again and had a really really good ride on Teasle. Both David and Serena commented on how nicely he was going so that made me happy. And at the end David even had me do some Medium Trot which is not quite extended trot but basically the horse lengthens their stride so that their covering much more ground but maintaining the same rhythym. Teasle is soooo lazy that it was really difficult at first but after about the third try i got a semi-decent medium trot. I cant keep him perfectly on the bit (meaning his face is perfectly vertical and his back/butt muscles are working rather than just his shoulders to lengthen the stride) but for a first time ever attempt at a medium trot (ok well i tried twice on Tanner and only once got anything resembling an actual medium trot...so im not counting it, plus it was a really long time ago) so i was really really pleased! and here is a not so great picture of Teasle:

Then this afternoon David told me i could ride Grumpy (aka Nairobe) again so that was really cool. This ride was so much better because i wasnt intimidated at first like before and i even got him to round up and "collect" himself (i use the quotation marks because he was a far cry from being actually collected the way david gets him) but he was on the bit! and David said i was sitting much better to his trot. So i was very pleased with that too!

and this is fliss on Perch (he's this huge percheron thats used for logging but the owner wants him to learn to how to be ridden...only the basics..so he's was sent here for 6 weeks of training, he's coming to the end of those 6 weeks tho i think):
